About the Program

The Commissioner for Children and Young People (CCYP) Ambassador Program is an opportunity for you to have your voice heard on how things could be improved for children and young people in Tasmania.

CCYP Ambassadors help the Commissioner understand what is important for children and young people so she can advocate on their behalf.

You’re provided with opportunities to come together with the Commissioner and other CCYP Ambassadors to share your views on important topics, learn about and promote child rights, and complete fun projects. Through this, you’ll help influence decision-makers.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, the 2020 CCYP Ambassadors collaborated together online to create a digital magazine, or zine, examining the big issues they’d like addressed to make their future Tasmania a better place: climate change and the environment, mental health, and equity and diversity. Artists at art and social change organisation, Big hART helped to pull their contributions together into an amazing zine that the Ambassadors presented the zine to Tasmania’s leaders and decision makers on 25 September, 2020 at their CCYP Ambassador Statewide Event. View Future Tasmania to gain an insight into the thoughts and ideas young Tasmanians have for their state and for their future.
